Among us hits Xbox and PlayStation with cross-play support

If Among Us wasn't already a super-popular game, it's about to become even more so. The hit betrayal simulator with cutesy, colorful space men is now available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and better yet, it has cross-play support with PC, so it has a built in audience of experience untrustworthy players to dive in and start hunting down.

Among Us is a 2018 release of the classic betrayal style of gameplay, where players have to cooperate to achieve a shared goal, whilst trying to figure out which one of them is the secret saboteur. It's a popular mechanic in board games like Werewolf, Mafia, or in a more epic sense, in Battlestar Galactica. It wasn't a huge hit when it first released, but once it started to gain attention on Twitch and other game streaming platforms, it exploded, and became one of the biggest hits of 2020.

Since then, the developer Innersloth has continued to update it, adding new maps, modes, and roles, and now with the addition of console support with cross-play, it's sure to retain its place as one of the most popular social multiplayer games available.

The latest update added the Engineer and Scientist roles, and a shapeshifter role for imposters. There's also a new cosmetics shop to play around with if you want to customize your crew member.

Do you like the idea of being able to betray your console friends now as well?
