Dungeon Keeper spiritual sequel adds sandbox game mode

War for the Overworld is the most faithful recreation of the Dungeon Keeper-like universe since the original two games and it's been moderately successful since its release last year. In its latest patch, it's created the ability for players to build their own dungeon without fear of it being trampled by a rival underlord or the heroes of good: a sandbox mode.

Called My Pet Dungeon, hearkening back to the days of when Dungeon Keeper had such a mode, War for the Overworld's sandbox mode removes the pressures of money. Just build to your heart's content.

You'll be trying to earn points along the way though. As PCGamesN points out, as you battle and build, you'll generate points, which in turn help you move on to the next world.

Released as part of the game's Anniversary DLC, War for the Overworld also has a new snowy tileset and a spawn command, which lets you throw heroes at your dungeon's defences and even a god mode, to reshape the very world itself.

You'll need to splash out $8 for all of the above features, but that's not a bad spread of extras for post release.

If you don't have War for the Overworld, it's currently at 75 percent off on Steamand for $20 you can get it and all of the DLC released since its launch, including this latest pack.
