Get Google Stadia Pro free for two months

In an effort to provide extra entertainment for those stuck working or self-isolating at home, Google has made its Stadia Pro package free for two months. It goes free starting today, with all you need to do to take advantage is to sign up with a GMail account.

"Video games can be a valuable way to socialise with friends and family when you’re stuck at home, so we’re giving gamers in 14 countries free access to Stadia for two months," Phil Harrison, the head of Google Stadia said in Google’s blog.

What's exciting about this, is that anyone trying out the service can take advantage of Pro's free games. With the free and limited Stadia accounts you have to buy the games you play, but Pro has Destiny 2, GRID, Steamworld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, and Thumper, all of which are excellent games and well worth your time. Especially when they're free and you don't have any real hardware requirements to play them at high quality.

If you're already subscribed to Stadia Pro, then you won't be billed for the next two months, saving you a few dollars in the process. But you can also sign up for a new Pro account and if you like it, you can keep it after the two months and pick up the standard monthly charge, or drop it — who knows, Google may even extend it by that point.

There will also be the option of continuing with a free account, which will mean you won't have game access, but any that you buy will be playable over Stadia as normal.
