Goat Simulator: Waste of Space pokes fun at sci-fi adventures

Goat Simulator is one of the more surprising success stories of recent years. Thanks to the growth of Youtube Let's Players, where silly games and their accompanying commentary are a good fit, it came along at just the right time to capture audiences' imaginations and now its big DLC pack, Waste of Space, is looking to do much the same on the PS4.

Just as the original game made fun of open world action titles, with all of the physics bugs and weirdness that it included, the new expansion is mocking open universe sci-fi adventures like No Man's Sky, Star Citizen and the Mass Effect series, among many others - we'll let you guys judge how well it does that from the trailer.

The developers, Coffee Stain, alongside Gone North Games and Double Eleven, have also peppered the game with many a joke at the expense of various sci-fi movies and stories, which means there's a tonne of light sabers, land speeders, teleporters and face huggers to contend with. You'll spend your time being silly on a space station or on a number of different worlds, all with the aim of funding and building up the station to unlock ultimate power.

It's Goat Simulator, it's stupid and pointless, but that's what makes these sorts of games so fun.

Waste of Space is already available on PC, but launches today on PS4.
