No Revolution Till Mid-2006

Description
Nintendo's permanent memory partner, MoSys, has let it slip that it will supply memory for the game company's next console, codenamed Revolution, expected to ship in mid-2006.

During a conference call, MoSys CEO Mark Voll said; We are excited to be a participating member of the Nintendo team once again as Nintendo will roll out its successor game console to the GameCube in mid-2006.

This date makes sense as it matches Sony's plans for the PS3, also expected to launch mid-2006. It seems that Microsoft may have a time advantage over its two rivals as the latest news suggests XBox 360 is heading for a November 2005 launch.

Nintendo is expected to offer a Revolution preview in a pre-E3 event but details are unlikely to be revealed at that time.
If you thought that Nintendo was impervious to leaks however, you were mistaken as a set of hardware specifications for the Revolution console have begun doing the web rounds. The specs seem very plausible but don't expect any official confirmation/denial any time soon.

The Revolution specs currently doing the rounds are as follows:

Four 2.5Ghz IBM G5 Custom cores with 128KB of level 1 cache and a 512KB shared level 2 cache. ATI will offer a dual core RN520 chipset with a 16 MB on-board eDRAM frame buffer.
