Description
Most open city racing games such as Need For Speed and Midnight Club have a convenient little 3d arrow which points you to the right direction. A New Jersey based company called Making Virtual Solid has been working an exciting navigation system which will bring this arrow to real life cars.

The new technology, called Virtual Cable (patent pending), uses a laser, a set of lenses, and a moving mirror mounted in the dashboard to project a 3D route-guidance line above the road ahead, as though it's actually out in front of the driver.

According to MVS, the system will cost around $400 when mass produced, but it must be factory-installed. The system consists of two units, the Virtual Cable Display itself and a Route Planning Unit. Both units are independent, so the Route Planning Unit can be upgraded or replaced easily while keeping the original, factory-installed Virtual Cable Display.
