Description The new single by Northern dance duo Uniting Nations looks set to be the latest smash hit inspired by a computer game. Daz Sampson, one half of Uniting Nations, was playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City when he heard Out Of Touch by Hall & Oates for the first time on the soundtrack. Daz takes up the story: I instantly new this was a dance smash waiting to happen so I called up my production partner Paul Keenan in Glasgow and talked him through the game until Out Of Touch came on. Within a week, our new Uniting Nations version of the track was being hammered by DJs across the North.
There followed a bidding war for the track which was won by Gusto Records who will release it in the UK on November 15. Early supporters include TV channels MTV Dance, MTV Hits and Flaunt and dance stations Kiss 100, Galaxy and Vibe.

Daz Sampson is the man behind numerous UK hit singles and has often been inspired by games. It was while playing Yie Ar Kung-Fu on my old Amstrad CPC 6128 that I came up with the idea to cover Kung Fu Fighting with my band Bus Stop says Daz. This top ten hit was the track that first put Daz on Top of the Pops, selling over 250,000 singles in the UK and becoming a worldwide hit.
After that success, I went back to my Amstrad when searching for inspiration for the debut Rikki & Daz single and found it in the Wild West game Kane. This led to Rikki & Daz making Rhinestone Cowboy (Giddy Up Giddy Up), a collaboration with the legendary Glen Campbell which reached no. 12 in the UK.
But this is the first time I've actually heard a future hit record on the soundtrack to a game says Daz of Out Of Touch, which looks set to be his biggest hit yet.
It's not the first time a big dance hit has been inspired by a computer game - Zombie Nation's smash single Kernkraft 400 samples the Commodore 64 game Lazy Jones.
