Description
Sign-ups are now available for Atari and Eugen System's near-future military strategy experience, Act of War: Direct Action.

If you meet the minimum specs, a list of which can be found by following the download tab above, and are interested, follow the same tab above and use code AOW-PRE to register and request to be part of the beta for the RTS, expected in Spring 2005. Be sure to fill out the registration page as completely as possible (especially system specs!). If you already have an account at betatests.net, make sure your system specs in your profile are up-to-date and put in a request for Act of War.

Act of War: Direct Action tells a highly realistic, near-future story of an elite U.S. special operations force fighting an international plot to wage terror and control the world's natural resources. A first look at tomorrow's war, Act of War: Direct Action takes you through a frightening and believable reality filled with suspense, international intrigue and geopolitical military conflict, wrapped in a cutting-edge strategy gaming entertainment experience.

Act of War: Direct Action offers players the opportunity to zoom in and engage in the battle from a street level perspective on urban battlefields such as San Francisco, Washington DC, London and Moscow, with incredible first-person shooter quality graphics. Act of War will feature a single-player story mode and various multiplayer modes including 8-player online skirmishes.

Beta testers will only scratch the surface of Act of War in this Beta, but they'll be the first to see how Atari and Eugen are pushing the envelope of what can be done in a traditional RTS, said Bob Welch, executive producer. We are excited to reveal more about this innovative entertainment experience after the holiday season.
