Spike TV hosted the 2003 Video Game Awards and we did mention that voting for the Most Anticipated and Most Addictive games was open to all. Your chance to make yourself heard or to rebel against what you may think are mainstream titles has been and gone and we thought it was only right for us to fill you in on the results.
If you missed the live event, you can always catch repeats this Saturday and Monday (6 and 8 December) on Spike TV.
Some surprises were in store when the envelopes were opened and it brought a tear to our eye to see that the old favorite did not win the Most Anticipated Game award, showing that recent problems may have damaged the game's image. Another surprise was Microsoft's domination of two of the biggest categories, it is almost certain that people will offer their own explanations as to how those awards were won. Another big surprise, was that the Best Music in a Game award did not go to classic 80's tracks but had a rather more contemporary feel.
The biggest question raised by the awards however, is how the title that won Game of the Year could not win it's own category as well? So much for consistency in voting...
