Left 4 Dead 2 Sees Record Number Of Concurrent Users After Christmas Sale

Last Wednesday, Valve gave its fans an unexpected Christmas gift by making Left 4 Dead 2 available for free for 24 hours. The promotion is now over but its effects remain.

According to the Steam online stats, the number of concurrent users for "Left 4 Dead 2" reached a peak of 134,841 players one day after the promotion. This figure is second only to Dota 2.

Existing Leaf 4 Dead 2 players have benefited from this Christmas gift too as the surge of new players means more partners and more fun to be found in co-op matches against the undead hordes.

Left 4 Dead 2 is no longer available for free, but it is participating in Valve's annual Steam sale and is being sold for $9.99, a 50% discount from its normal price.
