Monster Hunt Rise on PC will launch with all Switch DLC included

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. That's certainly the case with Monster Hunter Rise which launches on PC in January next year. When it does, it'll bring with it all the post-launch content that has been released on the Switch so far, making it the most complete single version of the game yet released.

Monster Hunter Rise is the latest iteration of the monster slaying franchise, and it has a number of major changes over its predecessors. Building on the successes of the streamlined Monster Hunter World, Rise makes it even more of a focused and simpler progression system than it has been in the past, making it an easier game to get to grips with, but still a hard one to master. You can ride monsters and have them fight each other when stunned enough, and there are heaps of new creatures to fight against, farm, and ultimately make clothes and weapons from their various body parts.

The classic Monster Hunter gameplay loop is there and the game's been well reviewed by just about everyone who's played it. When it comes to PC, Monster Hunter Rise will have a number of visual improvements too, including higher resolution and uncapped frame rate support. It'll also come with all the post-release Switch content, including new monsters like Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Chameleos, a new main-story ending, all of the collaboration events and quests with other franchise tie-ins, and it'll be in line for all the new content coming in 2022.

There won't be cross platform saves or play, however.

Monster Hunter Rise launches on January 12, 2022.
