Throughout the game you can purchase healing potions, equipment such as shields/armor/weapons, and rest in the Inn with the rubies you acquire from monsters and chests. There are many chests hidden in the world that contain rubies, potions, and even monsters! In addition, some equipment must be found and fought for.

The game is played in two screens: Map & Battle.

For each type of area, there are two types of monsters that will appear. When you encounter an enemy, the battle screen will appear. From here you will have to choose from the following actions: Attack/Spell/Item/Flee. Use the arrow keys or mouse to select an action. In order for you to take action though, you must first get ready by waiting for the bar to reach the maximum, it is all dependent of your dexterity. As in the map screen, a small talk box will appear when an event occurs. Monsters will always leave you with experience after you kill them, however, only a handful will also leave you with rubies. If you happen to be defeated by an enemy, you will be taken to the title screen where you can load a previous game.
