It's a rotten world
Deus Ex takes place in a near-future urban world rotten with terrorists, drugs, diseaseand pollution. The breach between the wealthy and the poor has finally destabilized the world's economy, and a shadowy force has decided that now is the time to take control.

Players must guide a secret agent through the thicket of a global conspiracy, but not unaided. There will be a wide variety of NPCs to interact with, along with a host of abilities and nano-augmentations that can be developed and honed to change the complexion of the gameplay.
