| Or Something New?
Divinity will also try to immerse the player in more than just the quest, but in the world. There will be numerous interactions that are possible with the environment, and also in how the environment reacts to the actions of the player. From the sounds of the owls at night to monsters hunting animals for food or the birds and butterflies flying in the forest, we have tried to liven up the place as much as possible. Furthermore, the non player characters that inhabit the world usually aren't just standing around.
Unlike Diablo, where there are a few different levels and worlds, Divinity will take place on 1 big world. There will be approximately 7000 640 x 480 screens large, though it is possible that this number will be extended to 14000 screens during development. The world is occupied by forests, rivers, wastelands, villages, cities, castles, lakes, plains, swamps, dungeons, caverns, catacombs, underground cities, and much more… However, this may make for some tedious walking without some sort of teleportation mumbo jumbo.
